How
do I prolong the life of my soap?
You
will find that your handmade soap doesn't last
quite as long as commercial bars, because it is
bursting with glycerin, a humectant which is so
good for your skin, But, here are some
suggestions to help make your Earth Maiden Soaps
last longer.
If
you have purchased several bars, use the extra
bar to scent a drawer or leave out as an air
freshener . The soap will continue to
harden further. Or, you may alternate
between bars. This will allow the
bars to dry out more
thoroughly between uses.
It
is best to keep your soaps exposed to air and
not store them tightly against each other. This
will allow the scents to maintain their
individuality as well as let the bars harden
further.
Use
a draining soap dish or wooden soap deck.
If the soap sits in standing water, it will
dissolve.
Although
the wire shower caddy's are a great place to
store your soap, make sure that the bar is
out of the direct stream of the showerhead.
